With summer well and truly underway, Festival Sons have been very busy travelling the length and breadth of our beautiful Isle, bringing songs and cheer and being the festival covers band for many weddings and parties - we''re a lucky bunch.
Never trust the weatherman is our advice. With rain and storms forecast for our adventure to Croyde, Devon we packed the van with waterproofs and winter supplies...
Oh how wrong they were, never have a bunch of dudes been happier arriving at a gig location. If you''ve never been, we strongly recommend a visit to Putsborough Sands. We had a wonderful time playing to some lovely people - they even had local homemade pasties (Ben our singer ate 6!)
The Power of Dreams
We had a wonderful rest bite playing a local show in London, on a Sunday! The guys at Honda were a fantastic bunch and also provided us with excellent home-made pies from the amazing guys at The Jugged Hare in Victoria. Lovely clients and the venue were super nice to us too. This is definitely somewhere we hope to be invited back to.
Westward bound again.
This time our band of merry men hit the road heading West to the very beautiful and magical even, Larmer Tree Gardens.
Another fantastic show and a lovely bunch of people...
The room sounded great and our trusted sound man, Iain did an amazing job keeping the party rocking and the venue happy too. The house and gardems are super pretty with wandering peacocks and an array of trees and shrubs imported from all around the world. Well worth a visit.
The North! (Almost)
For the final installment of our summer blog (one of many), we packed our overnight bags and headed north.
We arrived at a beautiful farm in Shrewsbury, where we were very well looked after by the event organiser, making for a smooth load-in and giving us time to brush up on the night''s requests. For this show, we had a request to play Dancing in The Dark, but not the Bruce Springsteen version, but instead the John Legend version. Both Ben and Matt did an outstanding job of delivering this to the guests, and the Bride and Groom of course, and it was a very memorable moment for all.
We''re very much looking forward to the next few weeks gigs, which will see us play an Officer''s wedding at the Royal Military Academy in Surrey, followed by our most Northerly gig ever - we''re off to play a wedding at Loch Ness!
So as you see, we are not just a wedding band in London - we''ll travel anywhere! From Devon to Dubai, Shrewsbury to Sorrento! So if you are planning a wedding event and would like us to perform for you, pick up the phone and give us a ring... who knows where we''ll end up next!
Thanks for reading, and we look forward to playing more events for you soon.
