So you’ve booked us for your wedding, company event or special party. Have you ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes for the busiest wedding band in London? How do we prepare to make sure we deliver a fantastic show? How do we create the perfect Festival style show for your event? Glad you asked.
5 Days Before the Event
Our manager sends us the ‘final itinerary’ document. This is when things start to get real. The document has: location, contacts on the day, time of arrival but most importantly: confirmation of your requests from our setlist, what music do you want us to play in our DJ set and your special first dance request.
4 Days Before the Event
Our guitarist Matt sends us the setlist for the show. Creating a setlist that has all your requests and keeps your guest on the dance floor all night is no easy task. It’s magic and Matt is our Pied Piper. His setlist will keep your dance floor full and make your party rock!
With this, we all start practicing our individual parts at home.
3 Days Before the Event
We meet for a rehearsal at Festival Sons HQ (our drummer Russ’ home studio). We always want to make sure that we can deliver a fantastic arrangement of your first dance or special requests; the only way to do that is rehearse, rehearse and rehearse!
2 Days Before the Event
We listen back to the recordings of our rehearsal over and over again. We want to make sure that we can play those songs automatically, without any hesitation to make them sound special to you.
1 Day Before the Event
Rest day! We need some rest before the big day. Just kidding...we probably have another gig/session/recording to do on that day. The music business has no rest.
On the day
We leave Festival Sons HQ anytime between 8am to 1pm, depending on distance to the venue and time of arrival. We stop for coffee on the motorway. We can give you a comprehensive review of ALL the service stations on the M3, M4, M1, A303 etc. trust us, after playing hundreds of events we’ve seen them all!
As soon as we get to venue we get to know the venue staff and start to set up the stage. We want to be quick, efficient and quiet. Before going on stage we have a final run through the first dance and all your requests and then is...
Two sets of top quality Festival Wedding Band music packed with hit after hit. This is the best part of our job; we get to be part our tour special day and see all those happy faces on the dance floor. It’s a special feeling every single time. After the show we pack all our equipment back in the van and drive home. We’ll be in bed between 2 to 3 am. So our gig day can be anything between 13 to 18 hours long, but you know what? We love it!
