2016 What a Year!
2016 saw the arrival of a new member of the London wedding band! Please give a warm welcome to our new bassist all the way from Italy we bring you Giacomo Occhipinti…
He joined at the start of 2016 and has been a delight to have both on and off the stage. Check out the next few blog posts where you can get to know each of us a little better.

2016 has been a fantastic year for Festival Sons - we’ve played so many amazing events, from celebrity weddings on Loch Ness to being the party band for a 4 year olds birthday party in a swanky members bar in Mayfair complete with superheroes! If we played at your wedding, party or corporate event then thank you very much for having us - we had a blast.
Here is a selection of some of our favorite memories from our travels.
May 2016: Wagamama’s summer extravaganza, Brighton.

This show was immense! We got to party very hard with all the chefs and kitchen staff from across Wagamama’s UK network of restaurants. These guys partied so hard it was like a rock version of the hacienda 90s rave scene. Big big party. Thanks again to Wagamama’s for inviting us to entertain your staff, this is our second Wagamama staff partied we’ve played at, keep’em coming guys!
June 2016: Pimhill Barn, Lea Hall, Shrewsbury.

Our singer Ben and guitarist Matthew running through the first dance for Laura and Rory’s Wedding at Pimhill Barn. They chose John Legend’s version of ‘Dancing in the Dark” what a tune! Excellent choice of first dance and a beautiful wedding, thanks guys for a wonderful evening.
June 2016 continued: Pickwell Manor, Devon.

Beautiful wedding in one of our favorite places in Devon, the stunning Putsborough Sands this location is truly magical. We had a great time drinking the local ales and partying with the guest at Pickwell Manor, one of the most picturesque setting we’ve played at. It was also the last time the venue are going to host a wedding so felt extra special knowing we were the last the party there.
June 2016 continued: Party In The Park, Chilworth Manor.

Continuing on the theme of amazing views, the view from Russell our drummers kit took our breaths away. Playing Picnic in the park at Chilworth Manor in Surrey was exceptional - not only did we get to rock out and party hard with the lovely people of Surrey but the event raised a huge amount of money for local charities, Surrey Mobile Physio, Chilworth 2gether and Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice Care.
July 2016: July was a bit of mad one for us, rubbing shoulders with the stars and having a proper good time!
Loch Ness, Scottland
First up we have a rather special wedding at a very beautiful and famous location. We packed our bags and got on a big jet plane headed for Loch Ness in Scotland! There we had the privilege to play for the very lovely and outrageously beautiful couple that is Rachael Tanner and Matt Peacock. Mr & Mrs Peacock to me and you now.

Thanks so much for having us guys it was super fun getting to play for you and all your lovey friends.
July 2016 continued: Hatherton Lodge Farm.
It just gets better and better for us as up next we played at the Wedding of England Rugby legend Courtney Lawes and his beautiful wife Jessica!

It just doesn’t get much bigger or better than playing for Courtney Lawes, the one and only English Rugby sensation! This was an epic party that was a highlight of ours this year. From the locally sourced ales to the mosh pit later that night consisting of some of the worlds best rugby players was something we’ll not forget in a long time.
August 2016: The Pines Calyx, St Margaret’s Bay, Dover.

The fabulous Pines Calyx on top of the White Cliffs of Dover. For this first dance we performed a duet of Lucky by Jason Mraz accompanied by the brides sister-in-law, who came and sang a duet with our singer. She blew us away with her incredible voice and performance we would have happily had her at every gig! Everyone danced all night and had a super fun time. Thanks so much for having us share your special day guys.
August 2016 continued: Renaissance Hotel St Pancreas, Euston, London.

Wow what a night! Renaissance Hotel St Pancreas made for a spectacular night of live music and dancing from our lovely brides and their amazing gang of ushers/bridesmaids. Thanks Mrs & Mrs Cardwell-Bossick for having us we had a blast.
September 2016: Mayfair Arts Club, London.

Now Mayfair Arts Club isn’t somewhere you’d associate with a kids birthday party but together with a gang of Superhero dudes we put on the party of a lifetime for Sebastian and his friends. So not just weddings and corporate do’s we also do kids parties too! Tell your friends and book us for your kids party in 2017.
As you can see, it has been quite the year for Festival Sons! We cannot wait to see what 2017 brings - please do get in contact to book Festival Sons and we look forward to seeing you all on the dancefloor!
